Our Story
EJ’s Promise was conceived and founded by mother and daughter, Karen Sams and Elizabeth Simon. It was born out of the combined devastating events that happened in our family.
“E” is for Emery, daughter/granddaughter who was born on 12/29/17 with a fatal genetic chromosome disorder called Trisomy 18. Emery died on 6/16/18 at only 5 ½ mos. old
“J” is for Jackie, sister/aunt who suffered for over 20 years with Huntington’s Disease, an inherited, genetic, neurologic disease. She died July 15, 2011 at 61 years old.
EJ's promise is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization founded as a way to help the organizations, who were so instrumental in giving us the support we needed, to be able to continue to help other families like ours.
